HCA Florida Citrus Hospital Names Marcus Smith as Chief Operating Officer

Marcus Smith has been named COO of HCA Florida Citrus Hospital

Inverness, FL  - HCA Florida Citrus Hospital recently announced the appointment of Marcus Smith as Chief Operating Officer.

 “I am confident Marcus’ leadership and experience will greatly benefit HCA Florida Citrus Hospital and help us to continue to deliver exceptional care to our community,” said chief executive officer Lisa Nummi.

 Smith’s career with HCA Healthcare began in 2018 with a journey through various leadership positions – ranging from Director of Facilities Management to Assistant Administrator. His most recent role as Vice President of Operations at HCA Florida Bayonet Point Hospital included oversight of critical departments such as radiology, cath lab, environmental services, food and nutrition services, and more. Notably, Marcus played a key role in the growth and development of service lines, including orthopedics, neurosurgery, spine, and general surgery, and was instrumental in the opening and management of a new 102-bed patient tower and rehab facility.

He holds a Master of Business Administration from Western Governors University and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Mobile in Alabama. He is an active member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and volunteers with the American Heart Association, reflecting his commitment to both professional excellence and community service.
