Eli McCoy

Eli McCoy, 26-year old roofing company owner visited the ER after experiencing some symptoms on and off that he neglected. He was soon transferred to Largo Hospital for an LVAD and shortly thereafter a heart transplant.  He expressed that on one specific occasion after his LVAD procedure, he remembers being ‘close to going’ with the team surrounding him.  He shared ‘this team that I just met, made me feel like we weren't strangers'; the way they depicted a sense of calmness, confidence and laughter, making jokes to keep him at ease. Not once did he feel scared because his team made feel that they weren't going to give up on him.
