HCA Florida Healthcare hospitals prepare for Hurricane Milton

Information on HCA Florida's Hurricane Milton preparations.

October 08, 2024

TAMPA, FL (October 8, 2024 – 2 p.m.) - HCA Florida Healthcare hospitals are actively taking precautions to ensure readiness for Hurricane Milton. Our preparedness activities include ensuring our hospitals have enough caregivers, medications, supplies, food, water and generator power to care for our patients during the storm.

HCA Healthcare has activated its Enterprise Emergency Operations Center in Nashville, a multi-disciplinary incident response team of nearly 200 leaders to support its hospitals in the hurricane’s path. Response teams are working to ensure resources are available and in place, before, during and after the storm.

As of today, HCA Florida Healthcare is preparing to suspend services and is transferring patients at some of our hospitals due to evacuation orders and the potential impact of the hurricane. Once the patient transfers are complete, the hospitals will be temporarily closed and will reopen when it is safe to do so following the storm. A patient reunification number has been set up at (844) 482-4821.

HCA Florida Healthcare’s West and East Florida Divisions are also suspending services at some of its freestanding emergency rooms. Currently, all North Florida Division facilities remain under normal operations.

The following are planned temporary closings for HCA Florida Healthcare hospitals and freestanding emergency rooms.  Please visit HCAFloridaHealthcare.com or hospital websites and hospital Facebook pages for the latest status updates and information.
