Deciding to have a baby is such an exciting time in most families' lives. Many dream of the day they get married and start their own family. For some, getting pregnant comes easy, while for others, a journey may be involved.

Imagine trying to have a baby for many years and not being successful. Moreover, imagine being told by several specialists that you can never have children and should explore alternatives. Now, imagine not giving up hope, continuing to try and seeking additional expert care.

Meet Clauren. Clauren suffers from an incompetence cervix. She has had 10 pregnancies, 6 miscarriages and with hope, support and expert specialist care from Royal Palm OB/GYN, she now has 4 full-term healthy, beautiful children.

"I am so thankful that I was recommended to Dr. Puckett. My husband and I went through such a tiring and stressful journey to grow our family, but it was all worth it in the end. It is truly a blessing to have a baby, and I encourage all women to never give up hope," said Clauren.

Many women suffer from an incompetence cervix, also known as a cervical insufficiency. This occurs when weak cervical tissue causes or contributes to premature birth or the loss of a healthy pregnancy. A cervical cerclage, also known as a cervical stitch can be a helpful treatment option.

"While the birth of every child is a special event, being able to assist a family who has had prior pregnancy losses with the birth of a healthy baby is extra rewarding. I have developed my own technique for cerclage placement that makes the dream of having a baby a reality," said Tim Puckett, MD, FACOG, Royal Palm OB/GYN.
