Healthgrades recognizes specialty care quality at HCA Florida Oak Hill Hospital

Ranking number one for patient outcomes in prostate surgery, number three for joint replacement and number five in all of Florida, as well as earning forty-one Healthgrades accolades, demonstrates excellent care provided at Oak Hill Hospital. These recognitions are based solely from data that compares care across the nation and focuses on what matters most: patient outcomes.

Brooksville, FL (November 18, 2024) – HCA Florida Oak Hill Hospital has achieved 41 accolades for clinical excellence from Healthgrades, the #1 site Americans use when searching for a doctor or hospital. Among Oak Hill Hospital’s awards are One of America’s 50 Best Hospitals for Surgical Care™ in 2025, placing it in the Top 5% of hospitals nationally and earning four Top 10% specialty recognitions as one of America’s 100 Best Hospitals for Orthopedic Surgery, Joint Replacement Surgery, Spine Surgery and Prostate Surgery.

In addition to these national recognitions, Oak Hill Hospital is ranked #1 in Florida for Prostate Surgery, # 3 in Florida for Joint Replacement and #5 in Florida for Orthopedic Surgery in 2025. These achievements place the hospital in the upper echelon of hospitals for specialty care statewide and nationally, reflecting Oak Hill Hospital’s commitment to delivering exceptional care year after year.

Oak Hill Hospital CEO Ken Wicker said, “Being recognized in 41 areas of specialty care by Healthgrades demonstrates our hospital’s commitment to high quality outcomes and patient-centered care. We are very proud to be ranked nationally, as well as first in the state in prostate surgery, third in joint replacement and fifth in orthopedic surgery overall.”

Chief Medical Officer David P. Slovut, MD, PhD, MHA agreed. “Oak Hill Hospital’s achievements are based solely on what matters most: patient outcomes,” he said. “Objective data sets are used to compare care across the nation to identify hospitals that provide the level of quality care that patients and families expect and deserve.”

As part of its 2025 hospital assessment, Healthgrades evaluated risk-adjusted mortality and complication rates for over 30 of the most common conditions and procedures at approximately 4,500 hospitals nationwide to determine the top performers in specialty care. By offering easy access to objective performance measures, Healthgrades helps consumers find and select a hospital that excels in providing the care they need.

As variation in performance among hospitals continues to grow, it is increasingly important for consumers to seek care at top-rated programs. Healthgrades’ 2025 analysis revealed that if all hospitals as a group performed similarly to five-star hospitals during the 2021-2023 study period, on average, 224,958 lives could potentially have been saved and 141,692 complications could potentially have been avoided.*

In addition to the 2025 specialty awards listed below, Oak Hill Hospital earlier this year earned Healthgrades 2024 America’s 250 Best Hospitals™ and 2024 Patient Safety Excellence™ Awards.
