One couple, who vacationed at St Pete Beach in 2022, is certainly counting their blessings. Jake Kaauwai had a cardiac event while in the water at a friend’s beach house fall of 2022. In the next hour, his heart stopped — more than once. He and his companion say it was a series of miracles, blessings, and great care that made it possible for him to be here with us today.

The story is particularly touching after hearing both their stories of loss. The pair met after both recently lost their spouses tragically and found each other fatefully — or as they like to say — saved each other. Now, their story continues.
