Cullen Brown named as chief executive officer at HCA Florida Poinciana Hospital
New CEO named for 94-bed HCA Florida Poinciana Hospital, serving Osceola and Polk counties.
Poinciana, FL – HCA Florida Healthcare announced today the appointment of Cullen Brown as chief executive officer of HCA Florida Poinciana Hospital, effective December 29, 2023. In his new role, Brown will oversee the 94-bed acute care hospital in Poinciana, which has served Osceola and Polk counties for more than 10 years. Brown has more than a decade of experience in healthcare, having served in various leadership roles at HCA Healthcare.

Brown most recently served as the chief operating officer and ethics and compliance officer at Riverside Community Hospital, a 517-bed facility located in Riverside, California, part of HCA Healthcare’s Far West Division. While at Riverside Community Hospital, Brown was responsible for overseeing more than $100 million in construction projects including a Level III NICU expansion, 24 telemetry bed addition, 20-bed emergency department expansion, the fifth cardiac catheterization lab addition, upgraded computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) technology, and hospital campus updates. Prior to joining Riverside Community Hospital, Brown served as the chief operating officer at Southern Hills Hospital and Medical Center, a 256-bed facility also located in the HCA Healthcare Far West Division. In this role, he oversaw the operations of the emergency department, Surgical Services, Cardiac Services and several ancillary departments. Before joining Southern Hills, Cullen started his career with HCA Healthcare at Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center in Virginia and then served as vice president, operations, at Los Robles Regional Medical Center in Thousand Oaks, California.

Brown holds a Master of Health Administration from Virginia Commonwealth University and a Bachelor of Science in economics from Southern Methodist University.
