Handmade blankets warmed the hearts of patients at HCA Florida Englewood Hospital
HCA Florida Englewood Hospital colleague shows warmth and compassion to patients with a special gift on Valentine's Day.
During American Heart Month, Angela Thomas, director ofinformation technology with HCA Florida Englewood Hospital, wanted to share the love with a few patients who are in the hospital on Valentine’s Day.
“I have recently discovered making cozy blankets by hand using chunky yarn. Since we have had a cold snap in our area, I thought it might brighten the day for a few of our patients to receive a blanket as a gift to take home,” said Angela. “I find it a relaxing activity that makes me feel like I’m doing something good for my community. Patients can feel more at home when they are here at the hospital.”
Wayne Robbins, a patient at the hospital on Valentine’s Day, shared that he is looking forward to “sharing the blanket with his lovely wife, who is his Valentine.”
