HCA Florida Englewood Hospital recently celebrated the completion of a $4.4 million project for a new suite featuring a state-of-the-art magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) machine and an upgraded nuclear medicine camera.

With a donation of $15,000 and more than 50 hours of volunteer service, HCA Florida Healthcare hospitals in Southwest Florida help fight food insecurity in Southwest Florida.

On Veterans Day, a day of remembrance and reflection, the hospital will honor those healthcare colleagues who have served in the armed forces to preserve our freedom. Captain Mark Benedict is a security officer who served in the United States Marine Corps. In his role, Benedict is responsible for maintaining a safe environment for patients, visitors and staff.

Approximately 453 pounds, equivalent to 310,000+ doses, of unwanted, unused, and expired prescription medications are now in the hands of North Port law enforcement officials for safe disposal. HCA Florida Englewood Hospital colleagues partnered with North Port police officers to raise awareness about the dangers of prescription drug misuse and provide an environmentally safe alternative to drug disposal in landfills or sewer systems.

A nurse's life changed when she went to her annual screening mammogram. Her provider ordered additional screenings, revealing three breast lumps. She was diagnosed with left breast cancer, stage 2. After 8 weeks of chemo and 16 radiation treatments, Kristin was cancer-free and is now fully recovered.

"Crush the Crisis" prescription drug take-back day will be held on Saturday, Oct. 26, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the HCA Florida Wellen Park Medical Office. The office is at 12169 Mercado Drive, in North Port, next to Publix in the West Villages Shopping Center. It offers offers the community an opportunity to dispose of medications safely and anonymously before they fall into the wrong hands.

Twenty-four hours after the storm, Human Resources and Supply Chain teams mobilized to set up an on-site fuel station, mini-mart, ice truck and other resources to support the hospital's colleagues. Over two days, HCA Healthcare distributed more than 2,800 gallons of fuel, food, cleaning supplies, baby formula, ice and other supplies to 190 colleagues and their families.
