About North Florida Invision Imaging Center

At HCA Florida North Florida Invision Imaging Center, we always prioritize your safety and comfort, and we are committed to changing your perspective on what an outpatient imaging experience can be. We offer the high-quality diagnostics you need for a positive imaging experience. Our imaging services include computerized tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and nuclear medicine studies.

Advanced imaging services

We are an extension of HCA Florida North Florida Hospital's diagnostic imaging services, and all of the physicians on our staff are board certified. We are also fully accredited by the American College of Radiology. Our team knows that imaging is often the gateway to forming a diagnosis and beginning treatment, which is why we take special care in every procedure we perform.

The imaging services we perform include:

CT scanning

CT scans are vital tools in diagnosing conditions such as cancer, bone disorders and lung disease. We offer multiple types of specialized CT scanning: 64-slice volumetric CT (VCT) and colonography.

The 64-slice VCT scans the entire heart within five heartbeats. In a matter of seconds, it produces 3D images that offer a 360-degree view of the coronary arteries. This technology helps identify early evidence of coronary artery disease (CAD) without the need for sedation or a hospital stay.

A 3D virtual colonography uses CT technology and advanced computer software to form detailed views inside the colon.

This study of the gastrointestinal system begins with a CT of the abdomen after the colon has been gently inflated with air to improve resolution. Using special software, the CT image is reconstructed into a digital model of the colon that can be moved, rotated and manipulated by the physician as many times as needed.

MRI

MRIs are used to visualize a wide range of structures in the body, including bones, soft tissue, muscles and organs. It is frequently used in spine care to diagnose conditions affecting the neck and back. Additionally, it is a helpful tool in diagnosing certain types of cancer and other conditions.

We offer multiple types of MRI technology, including a high-field open MRI scanner. This technology allows you to remain in an "open" space during imaging. We also offer a short-bore MRI machine that only requires the body part being examined to remain inside the enclosed portion of the scanner.

Both types of scanners offer relief to patients who may feel claustrophobic during a traditional MRI. They also offer more space for obese patients.

Positron emission tomography (PET)/CT scanning

This combination imaging procedure is a kind of nuclear medicine exam that is frequently used in cancer care to diagnose and stage different types of cancer. The PET function of this exam uses a radiotracer, a safe type of radioactive material, to capture organ and tissue function on a cellular level.
