New pediatric and adult orthopedic spine surgeon
Dr. John Asghar, a pediatric and adult orthopedic spine surgeon, joins HCA Florida Kendall Hospital.
Miami, FL – HCA Florida Kendall Hospital, a 447-bed facility, and part of HCA Florida Healthcare, the largest healthcare system in the state, is pleased to announce the addition of pediatric spine surgeon, Dr. John Asghar. Dr. Asghar will further enhance the orthopedic and spine pediatric service line at HCA Florida Kendall Hospital.
Dr. Asghar is a fellowship-trained spine surgeon, who has vast experience in the treatment of a range of scoliosis and complex deformities of the spine for children and adults. Dr. Asghar specializes in performing minimally invasive procedures embracing the latest technological breakthroughs to improve patients’ lives with complex spinal deformities.

Dr. Asghar spent eight years at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital and completed a fellowship in Pediatric Spine Surgery at Shriner’s Hospital for Children in Philadelphia. He is a member of the Scoliosis Research Society (SRS), the North American Spine Society (NASS), and the International Society for Advancement Spine Surgery (ISASS). Dr. Asghar is passionate about affecting positive change in the field and giving back both to the community and abroad. His charitable work in spinal deformity stretches the globe, including service-based trips to Asia, South America, and the Middle East.
