Local HCA Florida Healthcare Hospitals join nationwide effort to help food banks
HCA Florida Healthcare Hillsborough Market hospitals donate $10,000 and contribute nonperishable food to help Feeding Tampa Bay.
Leaders from HCA Florida Brandon Hospital, HCA Florida South Shore Hospital, and HCA Florida South Tampa Hospital presented a ten thousand dollar contribution to Feeding Tampa Bay this week as a part of HCA Healthcare’s Healthy Foods for Healthier Tomorrows food and nutrition drive. The contribution will be used to help provide food and assistance to local residents in need, especially during this holiday season.
“With nearly one million of our neighbors struggling with food insecurity, it is partnerships like ours that help provide better health throughout our community,” said Matt Spence, Chief Programs Officer at Feeding Tampa Bay. “Thank you, HCA Florida Healthcare, for your generosity during a time where more of our neighbors are struggling than ever before.”
In addition to the financial contribution, HCA Florida Healthcare Hillsborough Market hospitals donated over 1,000 pounds of food collected at local hospital food and nutrition drives. Last year, HCA Healthcare colleagues across the country provided 878,000 nutritious meals for local food banks by donating food or making financial contributions.
