Pinellas County, FL – The Pinellas Market of HCA Florida Healthcare  proudly received a proclamation in honor of National Hospital Week, presented by the Pinellas County Board of County Commissioners. The proclamation recognizes HCA Florida Largo Hospital, HCA Florida Northside Hospital, HCA Florida Pasadena Hospital and HCA Florida St. Petersburg Hospital for their care and commitment to the health of the community.

“HCA Florida’s commitment to the local community extends far beyond the walls of our facilities,” said Brent Burish, CEO, HCA Florida Pasadena and St. Petersburg Hospitals. “We are dedicated to not only providing exceptional medical care but also actively engaging in initiatives that enhance the health and well-being of every resident in Pinellas County.”

HCA Florida Pinellas County Hospitals employ more than 4,000 colleagues and treat more than 225,000 patients annually. They have an economic impact of over $550 million, including $350 million paid in salaries and benefits, more than $50 million paid in taxes and more than $40 million in charity and uncompensated care each year.

“During hospital week, we celebrate the demanding and critical work that our hospital staff perform every day," said Pinellas County Commission Chair Kathleen Peters. "We are incredibly fortunate to have HCA Florida Hospitals as a community partner in Pinellas County—from being on the front lines during the pandemic to helping save lives that otherwise would’ve been lost to the opioid epidemic, and everything in between. On behalf of the Pinellas County Commission, I extend my thanks to the doctors, nurses, staff and leadership of the many hospitals that serve Pinellas residents and visitors with quality care and compassion.”

The Pinellas Market of HCA Florida Healthcare also provides educational opportunities, supporting more than 200 residents and fellows who are furthering their medical education and more than 1,200 nursing students enrolled at the Galen College of Nursing Tampa Bay Campus, which is owned by HCA Healthcare.
