HCA Florida Citrus Hospital continues cancer survivorship series with Exercise and Wellness talk
Cancer survivorship begins at diagnosis and refers to anyone who has ever been diagnosed with cancer, no matter where they are in the course of their disease.
Inverness, Fla. — HCA Florida Citrus Hospital will continue its cancer survivorship series on Tuesday, May 14 at 5:30pm in HCA Florida Citrus Hospital’s Gulf Room, located in the hospital’s historic school building at 502 W Highland Blvd in Inverness.
“Exercise and Wellness” will be guided by physical therapist Mike Martello. Even a small amount of daily exercise will help with fatigue, improve cardiovascular fitness and help maintain a healthy weight. Exercise also provides many psychological and emotional benefits, including increasing confidence and boosting the ability to cope with anxiety during and after cancer treatment. Martello will talk about how regular exercise may help before, during, and after cancer treatment and provide general physical activity recommendations and goals of an exercise program.
