HCA Florida Fawcett Hospital nears completion of $60M expansion

PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. – HCA Florida Fawcett Hospital is nearing completion of phase one in its $60-million expansion and renovation project that will increase the hospital’s capacity and broaden its offerings.  Opening next month, the project includes expanding critical care capacity by 12 patient rooms - 31 total, increasing the number of pre-operative treatment areas from 14 to 43 bays, renovating the main lobby, waiting rooms and registration areas and adding a chapel and coffee shop. The coffee shop will be occupied by Los Dos Christianos Coffee. 

The entire project includes 40,000 square feet of new space and 20,000 of renovated space.  Phase two will include expansion to the hospital’s operating room capacity from 10 to 12 suites and is scheduled to be complete by the end of 2024.
