HCA Florida Fawcett Hospital has once again been recognized as one of America’s 50 Best Hospitals for Surgical Care, according to new research released by Healthgrades, the leading marketplace connecting doctors and patients. This achievement reflects the hospital’s outstanding clinical outcomes for surgical care and puts HCA Florida Fawcett Hospital in the top 5 percent of hospitals nationwide for surgical care. HCA Florida Fawcett Hospital is the only hospital in Charlotte County to earn a Surgical Care Excellence Award in 2023 and 2024.

“We are proud to again be nationally recognized for surgical care provided to our communities,” said Michael Ehrat, chief executive officer at Fawcett Hospital. “This recognition reflects the continued dedication of our specialty-trained surgeons, and caregivers, in providing safe, high-quality care with optimal outcomes for our patients.”

Healthgrades evaluated patient mortality and complication rates for 31 of the most common conditions and procedures at nearly 4,500 hospitals across the country to identify the top-performing hospitals for specialty care. This year’s analysis revealed significant variation in patient outcomes between America’s 50 Hospitals for Surgical Care and hospitals that did not receive this distinction.

“We commend HCA Florida Fawcett Hospital for their ongoing commitment to providing high-quality care to patients undergoing surgical care,” said Brad Bowman, MD, Chief Medical Officer and Head of Data Science at Healthgrades. “Consumers can feel confident that America’s 50 Best Hospitals for Surgical Care have demonstrated their ability to deliver consistently exceptional outcomes.”
