HCA Florida Lake City Hospital hosts wellness and health events for the community
HCA Florida Lake City Hospital hosts free community event to encourage health and wellness in the new year.
To kick off the new year, HCA Florida Lake City Hospital welcomed Fitz Koehler of Fitzness International to Columbia and Suwannee counties Thursday to share important information about health and wellness.
Koehler’s inspirational message of “live better and longer with perspective, passion, and commitment to health” guided community members on prioritizing health and wellness in today’s busy and hectic times. During her appearances, Koehler illustrated the importance of strength training, stretching, sleep, and perspective, which can improve health and increase quality of life.
“It was an honor to host Fitz to share timely and inspiring health and wellness information and provide the community with an opportunity to learn how to prioritize health in the new year,” said Jill Adams, Chief Executive Officer of HCA Florida Lake City Hospital. “Our goal is to make a positive impact in our community and ensure our family, friends, neighbors, and visitors have the resources they need to be mentally and physically healthy. Fitz’s message encouraged, empowered, and motivated our attendees to take the first steps to live better and longer.”
In Columbia County, over 100 community members listened to Koehler’s message, which was co-hosted by the Lake City-Columbia County Chamber of Commerce and Altrusa International of Lake City. The event also featured staff from HCA Florida Lake City Outpatient Imaging Center and HCA Florida Lake City Hospital’s inpatient rehabilitation unit. Special guest Katrina Perry, a physical therapist at HCA Florida Lake City Hospital, spoke about the importance of stretching and moving to improve mobility and overall health.
The Suwannee County Chamber of Commerce co-hosted a second event featuring Koehler. During the event, HCA Florida Lake City Hospital introduced HCA Florida Lake City Company Care and Occupational Health staff members who work one-on-one with businesses to ensure their employees are provided quality healthcare.
“As a hospital, we are committed to giving back to our community by supplying resources to make a positive impact,” said Lindsey Covington, Director of Communications and Community Engagement at HCA Florida Lake City Hospital. “We could not host our community events without the support of amazing partners like Altrusa International of Lake City, Lake City-Columbia County Chamber of Commerce, and Suwannee County Chamber of Commerce. These organizations are a pillar for our community and it is a privilege to co-host our events with these distinguished partners.”
