HCA Florida Northside Hospital hosts Stroke Awareness Health Seminar
The FAST method for identifying strokes will be taught at the seminar.
HCA Florida Northside Hospital is excited to bring timely health topics to our community, allowing participants to meet medical experts, during a lunch and learn format. May is Stroke Awareness Month. Join HCA Florida Northside Hospital Comprehensive Stroke Center Nurse Practitioner Tracy Czop who will explain the symptoms of a stroke, what to be aware of and how to act FAST.
Every year, more than 795,000 people in the United States have a stroke. Learn the signs and symptoms of a stroke. There is treatment options if you act FAST that can significantly reverse the effects of a stroke. FAST is an acronym used as a mnemonic to help detect and enhance responsiveness to the needs of a person having a stroke. The acronym stands for Facial drooping, Arm weakness, Speech difficulties and Time to call emergency services.
The presentation will be held at HCA Florida Northside Hospital, Medical Office Plaza 2nd floor auditorium 6006 49th Street North, St. Petersburg, on Wednesday, May 1, 12-1 p.m.
