Visitor information
Having family and friends visit while you are in the hospital can be an important part of your recovery process and HCA Florida Highlands Hospital welcomes them. However, rest and relaxation are also important to your recovery, so we have established visiting guidelines to allow patients to rest and recuperate. Certain situations require special consideration and in those instances our staff will accommodate your needs whenever possible. Please speak with our nursing staff if you feel your situation needs special consideration.
Wi-Fi access
HCA Florida Highlands Hospital operates a wireless (Wi-Fi) network for our patients and guests. Using your Wi-Fi-enabled device, you can access many internet resources (email, websites, instant messenger, etc.) from just about anywhere in the hospital.
We're happy to provide this free and reliable service to our patients and visitors, and getting connected is easy.
Visiting hours and policies
Having family and friends visit patients in the hospital can be an important part of their recovery process, and HCA Florida Highlands Hospital welcomes you. However, rest and relaxation are also important to the patient's recovery. That's why we have established visiting guidelines to allow patients to rest and recuperate. Certain situations require special consideration, and in those instances, our staff will accommodate your needs whenever possible. Please speak with our nursing staff if you feel your situation needs special consideration.
General visitation hours are 8:00am to 8:00pm.
ICU visitation
Intensive care unit (ICU) hours and policies include:
- Visitation is open to family members except during the following times:
- Morning closure: 7:00am - 9:00am
- Evening closure: 7:00pm - 9:00pm
- Only immediate family members are allowed visitation, and we limit the number of visitors to two family members at one time.
- No children under the age of 12 are permitted in the ICU for the safety of the child and the patient.
Gift shop
The gift shop is located in the main lobby and carries a full line of gifts. However, it is currently closed due to COVID. Our gift shop is run by our volunteers, and our human resources (HR) team oversees our volunteers. For more information about our gift shop, you can contact our team by email or phone.
When our gift shop is open, it offers a large assortment of items, including:
- Assorted snacks
- Balloons, gift bags and candy
- Flowers
- Gifts for newborns and moms
- Gifts, such as watches and jewelry
- Greeting cards
- Health & beauty supplies
- Magazines
- Plush stuffed animals
Cafeteria
Our cafeteria is open Monday through Friday.
Breakfast: 7:00am - 10:00am
Lunch: 11:00am - 2:00pm
To ensure that our visitors have a lot of variety in their food choices, our menu is on a 5-week cycle.
Parking
We do not offer valet parking.
Parking is available in the front of the hospital for patients and visitors.
Pastoral services
At this time we do not offer pastoral services, but we hope to offer them one day soon.
