Seminole County public schools recognize Oviedo Medical Center women's services team
Oviedo Medical Center received recognition from SCPS for their collaboration with the district's Great Start Pathways to Success program.
The Women’s Services team at Oviedo Medical Center, a part of HCA Florida Healthcare, was recently recognized by Seminole County Public Schools for their partnership with the school district’s Great Start Pathways to Success program.
Great Start is designed to help Seminole County parents develop essential early literacy skills in their children. Parents attending Oviedo Medical Center’s monthly Mommy and Me classes have an opportunity to learn about child development while nurturing infants and toddlers to encourage early reading. Great Start provides books for the parents of newborns in the class, along with information on resources, playgroups and case management services to support oral language and vocabulary development.
“At Oviedo Medical Center, we are dedicated to making a positive impact on the lives of our patients of all ages,” said Tracy Flaherty-Byrne, Director of Women’s Services. “Our partnership with Seminole County Public Schools demonstrates our commitment to creating healthier tomorrows and a pathway to success for our youngest patients and earliest learners through all the Great Start program has to offer.”
Oviedo Medical Center, a 64-bed acute care hospital, provides a full range of healthcare services to east Seminole County and surrounding communities.
