Chloe Crenshaw pictured her pregnancy journey to be a typical one. It turned out much differently than she expected – but she wouldn’t have changed it for the world.

She says, “I was admitted to HCA Florida Capital Hospital on Aug. 29 at 29 weeks pregnant due to complications of bleeding from the placenta. I had a complete placenta previa and this was the second bleed. I was told in order to prevent this from happening again, risk of having the baby prematurely or hemorrhaging - I would need to stay in the hospital until delivery. A C-section was scheduled for Oct. 12. I was very scared and nervous when told that I could not go home and I had no idea how I would manage to stay in the hospital for such an extended period of time. I was extremely anxious about this long-term stay and was concerned I would become lonely and possible depressed. But then I was introduced to the remarkable team at HCA Florida Capital Hospital.”

“From the moment I was admitted to labor & delivery - the nurses were incredible. Ashley Pilkington was the first nurse that cared for us in triage. She was so compassionate, caring and calm throughout my admission. She helped ease our anxiety. I could see that she genuinely cared for me and our baby. That same level of care and concern from the staff continued throughout my entire stay. Each and every nurse/staff on L&D, postpartum and in the NICU, were absolutely amazing. I developed many friendships during my stay and I couldn’t have done it without them.”

“I was under the care of Roberto Morales, MD, an ob-gyn with HCA Florida Capital Women’s Health and William Dobak, DO, a maternal fetal medicine physician. Dr. Morales is a very knowledgeable and caring physician. He took time to listen to me and also made sure I understood everything that was happening. He has a great attitude and bedside manner. He is an incredible doctor that truly cares about his patients – and he made us laugh daily and always kept my spirits up! Dr. Dobak made sure my baby was healthy and growing, with frequent ultrasounds - which helped with my anxiety about my baby’s development. He was so kind and patient with us – in fact, we still are in touch with him!”

“The amazing team even threw me a baby shower before our beautiful son, Beau was delivered via C-section, Oct. 12. The surgery and recovery went smoothly and the team was outstanding. I would highly recommend HCA Florida Capital Hospital for any expecting mother. My journey was long, but I wouldn't have changed it for the world. The team cared for us like we were family and that is exactly what they have become - family.”
