GI treatments and services

Diagnostic imaging

Our radiologists provide various diagnostic imaging services to help your GI doctor diagnose any possible gastric disorders or diseases you may have. Many of our imaging services have been accredited by the American College of Radiology and can also help with early detection of colon cancer.

Colonoscopy

A colonoscopy is used to detect abnormalities in the colon and rectum. It uses a small, flexible tube with a tiny camera on the end, which is inserted into the rectum.

Colonoscopies are used to:

  • Diagnose various digestive health issues
  • Perform biopsies
  • Remove polyps

A colonoscopy is the most common method used to screen for colorectal cancer.

Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP)

During ERCP, a dye is injected into the bile and pancreatic ducts using a flexible video endoscope. Real-time X-ray is used to outline the bile ducts and pancreas. Often, this procedure is performed to view blockages of the bile duct from either stones or stricture.

Esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD)

This procedure uses a flexible high-definition video scope to directly view the digestive tract — from the mouth to the small intestine. It can be used to:

  • Diagnose digestive disorders
  • Monitor any existing conditions
  • Perform biopsies and interventions of the gallbladder and bile duct
  • Remove harmful substances, including stone removal
