HCA Florida Citrus Hospital Announces Cancer Survivorship Seminar
Sharing the Love of Therapy Animals Planned for YMCA
Inverness, FL – HCA Florida Citrus Hospital will present a cancer survivorship seminar on Tuesday, February 25 at 2pm at the Citrus Memorial Health Foundation YMCA, located at 4127 W. Norvell Bryant Hwy in Lecanto.
Citrus Hospital volunteer Nancy Doak will discuss the health benefits of AAI (animal assisted interventions) and how to become a registered pet therapy team. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet and interact with Vido, one of Citrus Hospital’s therapy dogs.
Vido and Nancy have been a registered Pet Partners team since early 2024 and have been active in animal assisted interventions since 2023. Prior to beginning his career as a therapy dog, Vido worked as a task trained service animal. Vido also enjoys visiting the residents of Grand Living in Citrus Hills, the residents of Life Care Center of Citrus County and reading with children at the Central Ridge Library in the Happy Tails Reading Program.
Cancer survivorship begins at diagnosis and refers to anyone who has ever been diagnosed with cancer, no matter where they are in the course of their disease. All are welcome to attend. Seating is limited so an RSVP is required. Call (855) 422-8474 or visit HCAFloridaHealthcare.com to reserve your seat.
