Taking her life back: Mazey Ivey’s weight loss story

28-year-old Mazey Ivey has always struggled with her weight. At 366 pounds, Mazey felt that everything “had just gotten out of hand” and she reached out for help. Mazey was referred to the team at the HCA Florida North Florida Hospital Weight Loss Surgery Center and elected to have the endoscopic sleeve gastroplasty (ESG) procedure, which decreases the size of your stomach through a non-surgical, less-invasive endoscopic approach. Her results have been nothing less than extraordinary. So far, she's lost 181 pounds.

“I feel like a whole new person. I’ve gotten my life back,” said Mazey. “I have more energy. I’m more confident. It was truly life-changing for me. Before, I couldn’t walk a mile and now I can walk five miles at once. Everything I’ve gotten from this experience has been absolutely priceless, and I would do it all over again.”
