Tampa, FL — HCA Florida South Tampa Hospital continues to expand its advanced robotic-assisted surgery program, offering the latest technology and minimally invasive treatment options for patients. Dr. Rosebel Monteiro, M.D., general surgeon, recently performed her 1,000th robotic-assisted surgery at the South Tampa Hospital location. With the support of a highly skilled team of nurses and technicians, surgeons use special instruments to help guide them with technology that provides a magnified view.

“The demand for robotic-assisted surgery has increased as patients are excited about smaller incisions, less post-operative pain, and a quicker recovery,“ said Dr. Monteiro. “Patients today can choose these minimally invasive options for a variety of surgeries such as gallbladder and hernia operations.”

Surgeons at South Tampa Hospital began performing minimally invasive robotic surgery in 2016, with acquisition of the latest technology, and today the hospital offers robotic surgery for a wide range of procedures, at its South Tampa Hospital and its West Tampa Hospital location, which is home to the Hospital for Endocrine Surgery. Here highly trained surgeons perform a wide range of surgeries, including some of the most complex surgical procedures, using minimally invasive techniques. For more information, visit our website.
