Galen College of Nursing and HCA Florida Healthcare announce new campus in Orlando

New nursing education facility in Orlando to help answer need for new nurses

October 24, 2024

Orlando, FL – In its continued mission to expand access to quality nursing education, Galen College of Nursing, an affiliate of HCA Florida Healthcare, has announced a new campus in Orlando in early 2025, pending regulatory approval. With existing Florida campus locations in Tampa Bay, Miami, Gainesville, and Sarasota, Galen will expand its footprint in the state to help address the state’s nursing workforce needs.

“We are excited to extend our reach into Orlando and work with HCA Florida Healthcare to attract the next generation of nurses critical to the delivery of quality care,” said Mark Vogt, chief executive officer, Galen College of Nursing. “With a rich history of providing high-quality nursing education we are fully committed to preparing confident, practice-ready nurses who can meet the healthcare demands of the community.”

As the U.S. faces a nurse deficit, with projections estimating a 200,000-450,000 nurse shortage in 2025, Galen continues to offer more education opportunities for aspiring nurses in more locations throughout the country. Like much of the U.S., Florida has an aging population and an ever-growing need for qualified healthcare professionals. Galen offers doctoral, master’s, baccalaureate, associate, and practical/vocational nursing programs to more than 16,000 students at its 21 campuses across 12 states and online.

“Galen College of Nursing is a key partner in our commitment to expand access to high-quality nursing education to help meet the growing healthcare needs for the communities we serve,” said Dawn Beljin, chief nursing executive, HCA Healthcare North Florida Division. “We’re thrilled to open Galen’s new Orlando campus to connect aspiring nurses across the state and the country with meaningful, rewarding and high-demand careers in healthcare.”

Located at 12650 Ingenuity Drive, the new 43,000-square-foot campus features advanced classroom and clinical technology to encourage hands-on learning, mixed with collaborative and creative space. Designed with students in mind, the campus environment will reflect a high-quality educational approach and an expression of commitment to students and the community.  Featuring resources designed to elevate the student experience and prepare future nurses to enter the field, Galen’s student support model has helped thousands of students enter the profession with consistently high NCLEX pass rates.

Galen will offer a two-year Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) and LPN/LVN to ADN Bridge program tailored to meet the needs of aspiring nurses, helping them enter the workforce well-prepared and practice-ready. With four quarterly term starts per year, admission for the early 2025 term will begin pending final regulatory approval.

Galen also offers online RN to BSN, MSN, and DNP programs for nurses aspiring to advance their education in support of career growth and development. For additional information, call (877) 233-7040, or visit galencollege.edu.
