HCA Florida Fawcett Hospital named Business of the Year

HCA Florida Fawcett Hospital was recently recognized by the Punta Gorda Chamber of Commerce as the 2024 Business of the Year.  The award reflects the hospital’s commitment to the healthcare needs of the community as well as its growth, expansion and investment in the community.

 “We are honored to accept this award and proud to support organizations like the Chamber of Commerce who make our community a better place to live,” said Michael Ehrat, Chief Executive Officer at Fawcett Hospital. “We will continue to meet the growing healthcare needs of the communities we serve to ensure our residents can receive quality healthcare close to home.”

 Over the past year, the hospital has hit significant milestones including the opening of their $60M expansion and renovation. The project added 40,000 square feet of new space and renovated 20,000 square feet of existing space – expanding intensive care unit capacity and preoperative space, adding a beautiful new main lobby, waiting areas, coffee shop and more. The hospital will soon open a third freestanding emergency room in Lee County and recently announced a $10M renovation to their emergency room.
