HCA Healthcare Awards of Distinction recipients announced at HCA Florida Sarasota Doctors Hospital
Hospital recognizes outstanding colleagues for service to the community and each other.
HCA Florida Sarasota Doctors Hospital announced the recipients of the prestigious HCA Healthcare Awards of Distinction. The awards which include the Frist Humanitarian Awards, and the Excellence in Nursing Awards, are the highest honors HCA Healthcare bestows on employees, physicians and volunteers. As part of HCA Healthcare, the hospital is proud to recognize the exceptional work and dedication of these colleagues.

Here are additional details about each recipient:
Frist Humanitarian Employee Award – Kristy Santiago, FANS Director received national attention for helping save the life of a colleague. Kristy is also respected by her staff and colleagues.
Excellence in Nursing Award – Compassionate Care: Janet Lightfoot, RN ER is a mentor for our nursing colleagues and local Girl Scouts. She also helped triage people who were in a deadly accident while she was on vacation in Hawaii.
Frist Humanitarian Volunteer Award – Christa Thomas, has been a discharge volunteer and comfort helper for almost 5 years, and 21 years plus volunteering with Meals on Wheels, the Nokomis Blood Bank, Dogs Inc. /Southeastern Guide Dogs, Venice Beach Turtle Patrol and Riverview High School.
These caring and talented individuals will be considered for HCA Healthcare’s division-level awards. The division-level winners are entered into the judging for the enterprise-level awards, which will be announced during a special ceremony at HCA Healthcare’s headquarters in Nashville, Tennessee on September 24, 2024.
