Kelly Lindsay joins HCA Florida Englewood Hospital as Chief Executive Officer

Kelly Lindsay, a leader with an 18-year track record of outstanding leadership joins HCA Florida Englewood Hospital as Chief Executive Officer.

Tampa, FL – Kelly Lindsay has been promoted to HCA Florida Englewood Hospital chief executive officer (CEO), effective today.  She is has served as the chief operating officer at HCA Florida Brandon Hospital for the past four years.

“Kelly brings an 18-year track record of outstanding leadership, focused on the delivery of superior patient care,” said President of HCA Healthcare West Florida Division Jyric Sims. “Her experience at one of our largest hospitals with strong emergency and cardiac services and spearheading the division’s EMS Governance Council will be instrumental in supporting Englewood Hospital’s ongoing success as we expand emergency services  to communities like North Port.”

Since joining HCA Florida Brandon Hospital four years ago as Chief Operating Officer (COO), Kelly has led the hospital’s Emergency Services transformation.  Today, it is one of the busiest services in the state with adult and pediatric centers on its main campus, five freestanding emergency rooms and an intra-facility transport program, all while achieving top rankings in key performance measures. She has also focused on the hospital's cardiovascular services with Brandon Hospital achieving the prestigious 3-Star ranking from the Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS). Before arriving in Brandon, Kelly was the COO at HCA Healthcare’s Coliseum Medical Center in Macon, Georgia. She also worked for HCA Healthcare’s Memorial Hospital and Orange Park Medical Center in Jacksonville, Florida, where she was instrumental in growing the cardiovascular service line to become an industry leader in the region.

Kelly earned her Bachelor in Cardiopulmonary Science from the University of Central Florida and her Master of Science in Management with a concentration in Leadership and Organizational Effectiveness from Troy University. She is currently working on her doctorate in Organizational Leadership. Kelly is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives.

Lindsay is replacing Joe Rudisill who is now the CEO at HCA Florida Sarasota Doctors Hospital.

Healthcare workers partner with local law enforcement to "Crush the Crisis"

Approximately 453 pounds, equivalent to 310,000+ doses, of unwanted, unused, and expired prescription medications are now in the hands of North Port law enforcement officials for safe disposal. HCA Florida Englewood Hospital colleagues partnered with North Port police officers to raise awareness about the dangers of prescription drug misuse and provide an environmentally safe alternative to drug disposal in landfills or sewer systems.

The "Crush the Crisis" prescription drug take-back day is October 26.

"Crush the Crisis" prescription drug take-back day will be held on Saturday, Oct. 26, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the HCA Florida Wellen Park Medical Office. The office is at 12169 Mercado Drive, in North Port, next to Publix in the West Villages Shopping Center. It offers offers the community an opportunity to dispose of medications safely and anonymously before they fall into the wrong hands.
