HCA Florida South Tampa Hospital recently celebrated their 10,000th patient treated at the Hospital for Endocrine Surgery, a major milestone in a facility that opened in January 2022.
The Hospital for Endocrine Surgery brings together leading experts dedicated to providing patients with high-quality endocrine surgical care. The hospital is organized around the surgical treatment of each of the endocrine glands: thyroid, adrenal and parathyroid. Since its opening, the program has become a global destination for endocrine care, and has treated patients from all 50 states and over 90 countries.
Ari Fischer, the 10,000th patient, traveled from his home in Ecuador for his thyroid surgery after discovering a nodule in his thyroid. “I chose the Hospital for Endocrine Surgery for my thyroid treatment upon the recommendation of my physician and a previous patient of the hospital,” stated Fischer. “I knew I was going to receive the best care in the world.”
“We are treating patients not only from Tampa Bay and the rest of Florida, but across the country and internationally and have earned a reputation as a global destination for best practice in endocrine surgical care,” said Sonia Wellman, CEO. “It’s the reason we have reached such an impressive milestone by serving 10,000 patients since opening just over two years ago.”
