Panama City, FL — HCA Florida Gulf Coast Hospital is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Sushma Banda, MD, MBA, as the hospital’s new chief medical officer. A highly accomplished physician and leader in hospital medicine with an extensive background in internal medicine, clinical leadership, and innovation, Dr. Banda is a significant addition to the HCA Florida Gulf Coast Hospital team. She most recently served as the facility medical director of hospitalist medicine at HCA Healthcare's Henrico Doctors’ Hospital, a 767-bed acute care facility in Richmond, Virginia. Additionally, Dr. Banda held a medical directorship at Elevance Health in Richmond, VA, demonstrating her commitment to advancing healthcare delivery.
Dr. Banda completed her residency in internal medicine at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and earned her MBA from Duke University, where she also received a certificate in health sector management. She is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and actively participates in various professional societies, contributing to the growth and advancement of medical knowledge and practice.
