HCA Florida Lake City Hospital partners with Girl Scouts of Gateway Council for cookie distribution event
Girl Scouts of Gateway Council hosted their annual cookie drop at HCA Florida Lake City Hospital.
HCA Florida Lake City Hospital today hosted the Cookie Drop for the Girl Scouts of Gateway Council. The Cookie Drop is a distribution event for local troops to receive their allocation of Girl Scout cookies. HCA Florida Lake City Hospital assisted in the Cookie Drop by organizing and distributing over 700 cases of cookies to four Girl Scout troops from the region.
“As a proud former Girl Scout, I know firsthand the values of leadership, community, and resilience that are instilled in these young girls through their troop activities,” said Lindsey Covington, director of communications and community engagement of HCA Florida Lake City Hospital. “Supporting local troops in their cookie distribution efforts is not just about selling cookies—it's about empowering the next generation of female leaders. These young girls are gaining invaluable skills that will serve them for years to come.”
The Girl Scout Cookie Program provides entrepreneurial opportunities for Girl Scouts to learn and grow their professional skills. The funds raised from the Cookie Program stay local and provide resources for Girl Scouts to become well-rounded individuals through various educational and recreational programs.
“The true impact of the Girl Scout Cookie Program isn’t measured in numbers,” said Wendy Dordel, CEO Girl Scouts of Gateway Council. “Its most remarkable result is the visible boost in a girl’s confidence. It’s the courage to take risks, the belief in her ideas and abilities, and the pride in her accomplishments. It’s the transformation in how she views herself and her potential. The Girl Scout Cookie Program provides the foundation and develops the skills that empower girls to make bold, thoughtful decisions throughout their lives.”
The HCA Healthcare Foundation is a proud partner of the Girl Scouts and funded a national grant to help the development of mental wellness education for troops through the Mental Wellness Patch Program. The program aims to teach girls in grades 4 –12 to recognize and understand their feelings, effectively cope with mental wellness challenges, and feel comfortable seeking help and supporting others.
