John Heath

Retired Sarasota resident John Heath was at home when he started having severe abdominal pain. A friend told him he needed to go to the emergency room right away. He choose to come to HCA Florida Sarasota Doctors Hospital. He says when he arrived; he was immediately seen in the emergency room and a surgical team was assembled quickly. According to surgeon, Joseph Mets, MD, Mr. Heath had a life-threatening hernia condition. Teams from the ER, radiology, surgery, the progressive care unit, food and nutrition and housekeeping all worked together to care for Mr. Heath. Heath says, “I consider myself very fortunate I ended up at the right place at the right time with the right people and I might not be here today, if it wasn’t for them.”
