Tampa, FL - HCA Florida South Tampa Hospital is proud to announce the successful completion of its annual Back-to-School Supply Drive, organized in partnership with local schools and the Hillsborough Education Foundation. The drive resulted in enough donations to fill 135 backpacks for students in need of essential school supplies.
This initiative is part of HCA Florida Healthcare’s ongoing commitment to give back to the community and support education. The supplies South Tampa Hospital collected include notebooks, pens, pencils, folders and other items necessary for a successful school year. The filled backpacks will be donated to help ensure that more students start the school year prepared. HCA Florida Healthcare also donated $5,000 to the Hillsborough Education Foundation’s Teaching Tools Resource Center, which provides access to free classroom supplies to Hillsborough County teachers.
“We are grateful for the generosity of our colleagues who came together to make this supply drive a success,” said Ned Hill, chief executive officer of HCA Florida South Tampa and West Tampa Hospitals. “Supporting education is a key part of our mission, and we are proud to contribute to the future of our community in this way.”
The Hillsborough Education Foundation, known for its dedication to improving educational opportunities for students throughout the county, will help distribute the backpacks to the schools most in need.
