HCA Florida Bayonet Hospital has added Adam Copher as its new chief nursing officer. Copher will provide strategic leadership for the hospital’s nursing department, manage clinical quality and patient safety and direct the recruitment, training and professional development of its growing nursing staff.

Copher comes to Bayonet Point Hospital as the facility continues to add registered nurses, licensed practical nurses and other essential staff. This year, the hospital has hired 111 full-time nurses.

Prior to joining Bayonet Point Hospital, Copher served as Chief Nursing Officer at HCA Florida Pasadena Hospital in St. Petersburg,, where he led his nursing team to two consecutive Leapfrog A ratings, achieved a 4-star rating from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services and improved patient satisfaction scores.

Copher joined HCA Healthcare in 2017 as a nurse director for multiple acute care units at HCA Florida Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville, a 454-bed Level 2 Trauma Center. He was later promoted to associate chief nursing officer at HCA Florida Trinity Hospital where he played a key role in implementing several quality improvement initiatives.

“Adam is an experienced, high-energy healthcare professional with a relentless focus on quality,” said Sally Seymour, chief executive officer of HCA Florida Bayonet Point Hospital.

Besides adding to its nursing ranks, the hospital is nearing completion on the next phase of its multi-year modernization project, including the successful renovation of several care units to align with the modern aesthetics of the hospital’s new state of the art patient tower.
