HCA Healthcare West Florida Division welcomes division Chief Nurse Executive Amber Boes
Relocating to Florida from Midwest Health in Kansas City
Tampa, FL — Amber Boes, RN, MSN, CENP has joined the HCA Healthcare West Florida Division as the chief nurse executive (CNE). She is responsible for patient care, and nursing operations across the Division’s 15 acute care hospitals and 30 emergency sites of care, located from Citrus County to the north down the coast through Lee County. She joins us from Midwest Health in Kansas City where she served as CNE since October 2021.
“Amber is a tireless champion of the nursing profession with a track record of inspiring cultural excellence through her leadership, mentoring and collaboration,” explains Jyric Sims, president of the HCA Healthcare West Florida Division. “Her leadership will be instrumental to our success in attracting, supporting and developing the highly skilled nurses needed to provide operational and clinical excellence to the communities we serve.”
Amber began her HCA Midwest Health career in 2004 and served in various roles throughout the health system including chief nursing officer for Centerpoint Medical Center and Lee’s Summit Medical Center, as well as associate chief nursing officer for Research Medical Center. During her career, Amber has worked as a bedside nurse, nurse manager and director of various specialty clinical areas.
She earned her bachelor’s degree in corporate wellness from Northwest Missouri State University and a bachelor’s and master’s degree in nursing from the Research College of Nursing and Rockhurst University. Her extensive professional affiliations and activities include Women in Healthcare Heartland Chapter Advisory Board, Northwest Missouri State University Advisory Board, Research College of Nursing Advisory Board, the American Organization of Nurse Leaders and the Executive Development Program Business Acumen expert.
