Bradenton, FL& — HCA Florida Palmetto Emergency is now open and ready to deliver high-quality emergency care services to residents in Palmetto, Ellenton, Parrish and the surrounding communities. The facility is located at 902 10th St. E., Palmetto, Florida - about a half mile east of the US 41 and US 301 intersection. It will offer board-certified emergency physician coverage 24 hours a day, seven days a week. This is the hospital’s first freestanding emergency room, a department of the hospital which provides the same level of emergency services available at the hospital’s main campus at 2020 59th St. West in Bradenton.

The 10,800 square-foot facility features 10 exam rooms and a trauma bay. It is equipped with advanced medical technology, providing X-ray, CT scan, ultrasound, laboratory and pharmacy services on-site to ensure efficient, comprehensive care.

The establishment of this facility addresses the need for convenient healthcare services in a rapidly growing region. HCA Florida Palmetto Emergency is expected to serve an estimated 7,200 patients in its first year of operation, providing a critical lifeline for those in need of urgent medical attention.

"We are thrilled to bring much-needed emergency services to the north river area,” said Steve Young, CEO of HCA Florida Blake Hospital. “This facility represents our commitment to meeting the growing healthcare needs of our community with accessible, high-quality care. Our goal is to ensure that residents have convenient access to emergency medical services close to home.”

In addition to delivering emergency medical care, HCA Florida Palmetto Emergency will contribute significantly to the local economy by creating approximately 26 full-time positions. The team will include skilled professionals such as nurses, paramedics, radiology technicians, security guards, laboratory technicians, pharmacy technicians and housekeeping staff. This project represents an investment of over $15 million, with an estimated annual salary and benefits impact of over $3 million to the community.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house event took place on Friday, June 21, to celebrate the opening of HCA Florida Palmetto Emergency. The City of Palmetto Mayor, Shirley Groover Bryant, addressed the audience about her excitement for the establishment of this critical infrastructure. In addition, EMS personnel toured the facility to understand the layout and services that will now be available to the community.
