Malissa delivered her son, Liam, at Northwest Women's hospital, and when he needed specialized medical attention and care, she was thankful Northwest Medical Center has the only level III NICU in northern Broward County. While giving birth and having a newborn admitted to the NICU during a pandemic could otherwise be a stressful experience, Malissa had only great things to say about the support provided by our team.

The best part about having my son at Northwest Medical Center was the care of the labor and delivery team, postpartum team, dietary staff, janitorial staff and, most importantly at this time, the NICU staff. Although the visiting hours in the NICU are shortened due to the pandemic, I feel good that I leave him with a team that truly cares," Malissa said. "Liam (my son) and I are very grateful for our experience so far. I would very much like to say a special thank you to 'the milk fairy' (lactation consultant Kristyna) for her awesome representation of the lactation team. She made the learning experience fun and now I am able to give my son the best thing that I can give him while he is in the NICU."
