Outpatient physical rehabilitation

Physical therapy (PT)

PT is a traditional form of rehabilitation that helps relieve pain, improve mobility, restore impaired functions and prevent or limit permanent physical disabilities. After receiving a physician referral, our physical therapists develop an individualized care plan for each patient.

We provide physical therapy services, including:

  • Biofeedback training
  • Gait training
  • Manual therapy
  • Orthotic evaluation and casting
  • Range of motion activities
  • Therapeutic exercise

Our physical therapists use a variety of therapeutic techniques, approaches and equipment in customizing treatment plans. Each patient is closely monitored by his or her therapist during exercises and therapies.

Some patients may receive a prescription for a home exercise program to reinforce treatment. Additionally, patients are shown techniques to prevent recurring injuries and to maintain renewed abilities.

Speech therapy treatment for swallowing conditions

For patients with swallowing conditions, we offer diagnostic testing through a barium swallow study to identify the cause of the condition. Through the use of individualized treatment programs, our speech pathologists help patients improve their quality of life and regain normal eating and drinking habits.

Speech therapy treatment for voice conditions

The Voice Center is located on the first floor of our hospital. The center is where we evaluate and treat voice dysfunction conditions, and it is staffed by a certified speech language pathologist.

The Voice Center is equipped with computerized laryngeal videostroboscopy, an advanced technology for the evaluation of voice disorders. Laryngeal videostroboscopy provides valuable diagnostic information regarding the nature of vibration and condition of the vocal cords. It allows us to view magnified function of the vibratory pattern of the vocal cords in slow motion and provides patients with a unique view of their voice disorder.

Additionally, laryngeal videostroboscopy enables our team to maintain an accurate visual record of the patient's vocal condition prior to and following any surgical or medical therapy treatment program.
