HCA Florida Brandon Hospital acquires the highest level of minimally invasive surgical robot
Technology advancements in robotic operating systems are improving patient outcomes
Minimally invasive procedures for gynecology, thoracic, surgical oncology and general surgeries will now be performed with the next level of robotic surgical technology at HCA Florida Brandon Hospital. Surgeons are always 100% in control of this robotic-assisted system; it translates a physician’s hand movements into tiny instruments that enable the most precise surgical cuts.
Brandon Hospital acquired this new surgical operating system equipped with the next generation of 3D display capability, providing the highest resolution and realistic imaging during surgery. The design and engineering enhancements of the surgical controllers enable increased precision by the surgeon. It includes a first-of-its-kind force-sensing technology and instruments that enable surgeons to sense and measure the force exerted on tissue during surgery ultimately reducing the impact on tissue.
“This robot is the latest and greatest in technology, the most advanced surgical robotic system. The vision is incredible. The maneuverability and field of vision enables the most precise measurement, hence the most accurate surgical cuts. It provides a safer procedure for a patient,” said Dr. Christine Van Cott, Chief Medical Officer at HCA Florida Brandon Hospital.
