Port Charlotte, FL — On the 50th anniversary of National EMS Week, HCA Florida Fawcett Hospital joins the greater HCA Healthcare network of care in recognizing the unmatched dedication displayed by first responders each and every day.

“Our EMS professionals are the first to arrive to care for our patients and communities with skill and bravery,” said Dr. George Ruggiero, chief medical officer at HCA Florida Fawcett Hospital.  “Today, and every day, we are grateful for the lifesaving care they provide.”

The hospital celebrated first responders with a week of food trucks, activities, dunk tanks and more at the hospital campus as well as their freestanding emergency rooms – HCA Florida Tamiami Trail Emergency and HCA Florida Cape Coral Emergency.
