Steven Samaroo from the hospital's 3C unit and Rosann Pickerin from 3E were honored.
HCA Florida Palms West Hospital is proud to announce its DAISY and BEE award winners for the fourth quarter of 2023.
Steven Samaroo, has been selected as the latest DAISY Award-winning nurse.
Samaroo, who is a licensed practical nurse (LPN) on the hospital’s 3C unit, was selected for his care and willingness to go the extra mile.
“[Steven] is certainly in the right profession based on his kindness and his innate ability to recognize the needs of others,” his nomination said. The nomination also noted that Steven “has made the world a better place.”
The hospital’s latest BEE Award winner is Rosann Puckerin, a Patient Care Technician (PCT) in the hospital’s 3 East unit.
“Roseann is one of the best CNA’s I have ever had taking care of me. She always has a pleasant attitude and a smile on her face even when I know she is busy,” her nomination said. “It brings me peace of mind knowing I am in confident hands. Roseann is like a ray of sunshine on a rough day when you don’t feel your best.”
The DAISY Award is a nationally-recognized distinction that honors “the super-human work nurses do for patients and families every day,” according to The DAISY Foundation.
The BEE (Beyond Exceptional Expectations) Award is also a nationally-recognized award that recognizes team members outside of nursing for going above and beyond to care for patients, visitors, and each other.
