Tampa, FL — HCA Florida South Tampa Hospital recently hosted a group of community leaders for a look ‘Behind the Scenes’ at the South Tampa Hospital and its West Tampa campus. This included a close-up tour of the Hospital for Endocrine Surgery, a unique facility dedicated to the surgical treatment of endocrine tumors. Community leaders were invited to tour and meet with caregivers who demonstrated the specialized care and unique services provided at both campuses.
“The opportunity to host key community members for a day and demonstrate the services we provide the community is invaluable,” said Chief Executive Officer Sonia Wellman. “After spending a day with us, these Ambassadors are able to share all the great advancements and specialty services available at our hospitals.”
Patie Powers, director of membership for the Tampa Bay Chamber of Commerce, participated in this program and said: “I learned so much and had a great time doing it. Everyone we visited had so much pride and genuine passion for what they do.”
South Tampa Hospital’s ‘Behind the Scenes’ program began in 2019 and takes place twice a year. Community leaders are selected and invited to visit and spend a half day with caregivers to learn more about the specialized services at both the South Tampa Hospital and West Tampa Hospital campuses. If you or someone you know would like to participate in a ‘Behind the Scenes’ hands-on experience, please contact the hospital at (813) 512-4445 to learn more.
