Hospital Earns 20th 'A' Safety Grade
Grade for fall 2024 is national recognition for commitment to patient safety
When residents have an emergency or need surgery they want to know the hospital they choose puts their safety first. HCA Florida Sarasota Doctors Hospital earned another “A” hospital safety grade from The Leapfrog Group. The organization is an independent, national watchdog focused on patient safety. It assigns letter grades to hospitals nationwide based on more than 30 performance measures including errors, accidents, injuries, infections, and systems hospitals have in place to prevent harm.
“This is the 20th time we have earned an ‘A’ grade, so this reflects our entire team’s ongoing commitment to safety. I am extremely proud of our nurses, physicians, and every colleague for their dedication to providing safe, high-quality care and always putting our patients first,” said Joe Rudisill, CEO of HCA Florida Sarasota Doctors Hospital.
Grades are updated twice a year in the fall and spring. The rating program is focused solely on preventable medical errors, infections, and injuries.
