New fellowship-trained robotic surgeon and urologist

HCA Florida Kendall Hospital, a 447-bed facility, and part of HCA Florida Healthcare, the largest healthcare system in the state, is pleased to announce the addition of urologist and robotic surgeon, Dr. Shirin Razdan.

Dr. Shirin Razdan is a fellowship-trained robotic surgeon and urologist who specializes in both oncologic and benign urology. She completed medical school at the Miller School of Medicine at University of Miami before moving to New York City for a competitive urologic residency at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital. During her residency she completed a junior fellowship in prosthetic surgery, performing over 200 penile implant and sling operations. She then completed a one-year fellowship in urologic oncology and robotic surgery at Mount Sinai Hospital before moving back to Miami.

Dr. Razdan’s clinical interests are kidney cancer, prostate cancer, kidney stones, enlarged prostate, erectile dysfunction, and urinary incontinence. In addition to her surgical expertise, Dr. Razdan also has a robust research background, with over 50 publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals, book chapters, and presentations in national academic conferences. Her research covers the gamut of optimizing techniques for better outcomes in robotic prostatectomy and penile implant surgery, as well as outcomes for single port robotic surgery.

As Director of Miami Robotic Surgery at the Comprehensive Urologic Surgery Institute, Dr. Razdan’s mission is to provide compassionate, competent, and cutting-edge care to her patients in South Florida and beyond. Well-versed in the latest robotic and endourologic technologies, Dr. Razdan is a strong asset to the HCA Kendall family.
