Barbara Huelsbeck with ICU nurses and doctors.

Retired Nurse, Barbara Huelsbeck found herself in the ICU after being struck by a camper while riding her bicycle. Suffering multiple injuries including subdural hematoma, subarachnoid hemorrhage as well as multiple fractures, she underwent seven surgeries including hip and elbow surgery at Orange Park Hospital.

She began her recovery at the Orange Park Hospital Inpatient Rehabilitation Center just 12 short days later. When arriving to rehab, she was unable to dress, bathe or walk on her own. On day 15, she walked out of the building on her own, celebrating her independence and amazing progress.

"Everyone here has been very pleasant and the spirit is upbeat. I am very, very pleased with my experience. The entire team was wonderful!" – Barbara

Barbara looks forward to being home to enjoy time on her back porch, cooking, reading, doing crossword puzzles and playing Sudoku.
