We deliver dreams
Meet Jessica Brannock and her son Athan — Jessica says, “My birth experience was a roller coaster! I went into labor early and came to the hospital. I was given magnesium and other care to stop the labor. My water broke two days later and I was admitted. I stayed for a little over two weeks and was monitored to keep me and baby healthy, and try to make it to 35 weeks (if not longer). At 34 1/2 weeks my contractions started again and it quickly turned into an emergency c-section. Athan was sideways and in distress. I was moved to labor and delivery a little after 4 p.m., and he was delivered at 5:31 p.m.”
“The fact that the medical team acted so quickly to get him out safely meant so much to me. It was a crazy whirlwind and a lot going on at once, but I am so thankful for the care I received! Fun fact — Athan was the last baby born in 2022 at HCA Florida Capital Hospital.”
“My OB, Dr. Shawn Ramsey is with HCA Florida Capital Women’s Health. Dr. Adrienne George with that same practice was on-call when I went into labor and performed the c-section. I was so glad that HCA Florida Capital Hospital had a NICU, since I ended up needing it!”
“Several nurses went above and beyond with the care I received. I wish I knew all of their names but to name a few, Diana in post-partum, Connie and Kristina in the NICU, and the ultrasound tech. There are so many others to mention and being in the hospital so long — the team made me feel at home, and not scared and stressed.”
“You hope you never have to use the NICU, but being that I did, I am so happy I had the team caring for my son that I did. Besides the amazing Family Center and NICU teams, I want to also thank Dr. Eason — he was Athan’s neonatologist from birth through his first week of life — I am incredibly grateful.”
