Michael Barrett
Michael Barrett couldn’t remember a time in recent years without knee pain. As a youth football coach for over 15 years with the Port Charlotte Bandits, he’d often leave a Sunday gameday barely able to walk. He finally decided to meet with orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Jason Reiss, to explore knee replacement surgery for a better quality of life.
“I was tired of being in pain and finally decided to do something about it,” said Barrett. “Dr. Reiss and the team at Fawcett Hospital really seemed to care, and I could feel that as soon as I walked in.”
Knee pain caused by arthritis, injury or wear and tear can significantly impact a person’s ability to perform every day activities, from walking and climbing stairs to enjoying hobbies, like coaching a team. For so many, knee replacement surgery has become a life-changing solution, offering relief from chronic pain and restoring mobility.
Donna Barrett, wife of Michael Barrett says, “It was heart-warming to see my husband not in pain anymore. He can come home from a day long game or practice and feel good. The care he received was wonderful and as his spouse, I felt comfort and at ease while being in the hospital during his stay.”
