Pharmacy Residency Program Preceptors
Anthony Spann, PharmD, CPh
Director of Pharmacy
Preceptor: Administration
Anthony J. Spann is the pharmacy director at HCA Florida Blake Hospital. Originally from Dothan, Alabama, he earned his doctor of pharmacy degree from Florida A&M University in Tallahassee, Florida. After graduation, he completed a PGY-1 residency at Bayfront Health St. Petersburg. While there, he served as the cardiology preceptor and critical care preceptor for the residency program. He was also the education coordinator, responsible for managing the IPPE and APPE rotations for various colleges of pharmacy that rotated through Bayfront. He started the antimicrobial stewardship program at Bayfront and served on various other committees.
After working in critical care for a number of years, he left Bayfront to become the pharmacy clinical coordinator at Northside Hospital. There he served as antimicrobial stewardship chair. Anthony then moved to Largo Medical Center where he was the assistant director of pharmacy. After a short time there, he became pharmacy director at HCA Florida Sarasota Doctors Hospital where he worked for the past 5 years prior to his arrival at Blake.
Jourdan Boyle, PharmD
Preceptor: Emergency Medicine
Jourdan Boyle-Taylor, PharmD, is a clinical pharmacist at HCA Florida Blake Hospital. She attended Santa Fe College for her undergraduate studies, where she received her Associates degree with a Pre-Pharmacy track in 2017. She earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree in 2022 from the University of Florida College of Pharmacy - Jacksonville campus. Dr. Boyle-Taylor completed her Post-Graduate Year 1 (PGY-1) Pharmacy Residency at UF Health Jacksonville in 2023. She also obtained her Residency Teaching Certificate through the University of Florida College of Pharmacy in 2023. Her professional interests include emergency medicine, trauma, neurology, and cardiology. Her professional goals are to become a board-certified emergency medicine pharmacist (BCEMP) and a Diplomate of the American Board of Applied Toxicology (DABAT). In her free time, she enjoys activities such as volleyball, fishing, scalloping and hanging out with her fiancée and 4 animals.
Hanna Lefebo, PharmD
Preceptor: Internal Medicine
Hanna Lefebo, PharmD, is a clinical pharmacist at HCA Florida Blake Hospital. She attended Temple University for her undergraduate studies, where she received her Bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience: Cellular and Molecular in 2018. She then earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree in 2022 from the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy. Dr. Lefebo completed her Post-Graduate Year 1 (PGY-1) Pharmacy Residency at Duke Regional Hospital. She also obtained her Residency Teaching Certificate through the Duke Health System. Her professional interests include internal medicine and infectious diseases. Her professional goals are to become board-certified and grow into an administrative role. In her free time, she enjoys activities such as golf, frisbee and hanging out with her friends and 2 cats.

Preceptor: Hospital Orientation
Shameema Challa, PharmD, BCPS went to pharmacy school at the prestigious NAAC accredited Kakatiya University, Warangal, India and completed PharmD in University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus, Denver, CO. She is a Board Certified pharmacist 2013 and got re-certified in 2020.She has more than 20 years of experience in administration, acute care hospital critical care, ID and in Clinical pharmacy de-centralized model pharmacy services. She served as a Chair, Anti-Microbial Stewardship Committee at AdventHealth Lake Wales, Glycemic Management Committee AdventHealth Sebring and in Fall Prevention Committee, Highlands Regional Medical Center. She enjoys spending time with the family, reading books and traveling.
Nicholas Hodgin, PharmD
Clinical Pharmacist
Preceptor: Pharmacokinetics, PN Therapy and Infectious Disease
Nicholas Hodgin, PharmD is a clinical pharmacist and previous resident at HCA Florida Blake Hospital. He received his Doctor of Pharmacy degree in 2020 from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine School of Pharmacy- Bradenton Campus. Upon finishing pharmacy school, he completed his PGY-1 residency at HCA Florida Blake Hospital . His interests include critical care, burn and infectious disease. Nicholas continues with HCA Florida Blake Hospital since completing his residency.
Lily Reyes, PharmD
Clinical Pharmacist
Preceptor: Cardiology
Lily Reyes, PharmD is a clinical pharmacist and recent inaugural residency program graduate at HCA Florida Blake Hospital. Originally from Cuba, has lived in Florida for 26 years; graduated from the University of South Florida with a B.S. in Biomedical Sciences and subsequently attended and graduated from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (Bradenton Campus) in 2019. Upon completion of PGY1 at BMC, Lily stayed on board as a clinical pharmacist with a special interest in Cardiology. Dr. Reyes plans on building a Cardiology program that will form a solid foundation for our future residents.

Clinical Pharmacist

Thao Stromgren, PharmD is a clinical pharmacist at HCA Florida Blake Hospital. She attended Florida State University for undergraduate studies, where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences in 2016. She earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree in 2020 from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine - School of Pharmacy. Dr. Stromgren completed her Post-Graduate Year 1 (PGY-1) Pharmacy Residency at HCA Florida Blake Hospital in 2021, and then stayed on as a clinical pharmacist. She also obtained her Residency Teaching Certificate through the University of South Florida - Taneja College of Pharmacy in 2021. Her professional interests include pediatrics, critical care, cardiology and internal medicine. She has authored a publication in the Journal of Clinical Pharmacy and Therapeutics in 2020. Her professional goals are to become a board-certified pharmacotherapy specialist (BCPS) and a board-certified critical care pharmacist (BCCCP) in the coming years.
