HCA Florida Palms West and JFK Hospitals Named to Healthgrades' Patient Safety Excellence 2024
Palms West Hospital and JFK Hospital are the only two hospitals in Palm Beach County to receive this distinction.
Loxahatchee, FL — HCA Florida Palms West Hospital and HCA Florida JFK Hospital proudly announce that they have been honored with the prestigious Patient Safety Excellence Award™2024 by Healthgrades, a trusted source for patients seeking quality healthcare providers.
Palms West Hospital and JFK Hospital are the only two hospitals in Palm Beach County to receive this distinction. This award places JFK Hospital in the top five percent of hospitals in the nation and Palms West Hospital in the top ten percent of hospitals in the nation for patient safety.
JFK and Palms West hospitals are among the eight HCA Florida Healthcare East Florida hospitals to be awarded including HCA Florida Aventura Hospital, HCA Florida Kendall Hospital, HCA Florida Northwest Hospital, HCA Florida Raulerson Hospital, HCA Florida St. Lucie Hospital, HCA Florida Westside Hospital and HCA Florida Woodmont Hospital.
These facilities join 22 others in the HCA Florida Healthcare network on the list of 2024 Patient Safety Excellence Awards recipients.
JFK Hospital also received this distinction in 2023 and Palms West Hospital was previously named in 2022.
The Healthgrades Patient Safety Excellence Award distinguishes hospitals ranking in the top 10 percent nationwide for patient safety, with minimal occurrences of preventable safety events. Healthgrades' rigorous evaluation process analyzed risk-adjusted complication and mortality rates across approximately 4,500 hospitals nationwide. Patients treated at hospitals receiving the 2024 Patient Safety Excellence Award have shown significantly lower chances of experiencing preventable safety events compared to non-recipient hospitals.
Patients treated at these award-winning hospitals have substantially lower risks of experiencing preventable safety events, including in-hospital falls resulting in fractures, collapsed lungs, pressure sores, and catheter-related bloodstream infections.
